Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Depart early from Nairobi and enjoy the scenic drive north to Samburu National Reserve. Along the way, take in the semi arid landscapes, rolling hills, and local settlements that give northern Kenya its unique character. Upon arrival, check in at your comfortable lodge, where you will have time to relax and enjoy a half board lunch. After lunch, embark on your first game drive in the reserve. Explore the riverine forests, acacia woodlands, and open plains of Samburu, searching for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. Don’t miss the chance to spot the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Return to the lodge in the evening to enjoy dinner, unwind, and soak in the lodge’s serene surroundings and scenic views of the rugged northern landscape.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Return to Nairobi
Wake up early for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active and photography opportunities are at their best. Travel deeper into the park’s diverse habitats, spotting more elephants, giraffes, zebras, and predators. After the morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and begin the journey back to Nairobi. Along the way, you may stop for photos or refreshments, reflecting on your exciting Samburu adventure. Arrive in Nairobi by afternoon, marking the end of your memorable safari experience.
