3 DAY GORILLA HABITUATION EXPERIENCE IN MGAHINGA
This 3 day adventure takes you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Unlike regular gorilla trekking, the gorilla habituation experience allows you to spend up to four hours with a semi habituated gorilla family, providing a rare opportunity to observe their behaviour and interactions. The journey begins with a scenic drive to Kisoro, followed by an immersive day with the gorillas, and concludes with a return to Kampala.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kisoro
Your journey begins early in the morning with a departure from Kampala, heading southwest towards Kisoro. The drive takes approximately 9 - 10 hours, offering stunning views of Uganda’s countryside, rolling hills, and lush landscapes. Along the way, there will be a stop at the equator for a photo opportunity and another break for lunch in Mbarara. As you approach Kisoro, the scenery becomes even more dramatic, with the majestic Virunga Volcanoes rising in the distance. Upon arrival in Kisoro, you will check into your lodge, have dinner, and relax in preparation for the next day's adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Mgahinga National Park
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla habituation process. Unlike the standard one hour gorilla trekking experience, this unique activity allows you to spend up to four hours with a semi habituated gorilla family, accompanied by researchers, rangers, and conservationists. You will observe the gorillas in their natural habitat, watching their interactions, feeding habits, and social behaviour while contributing to their habituation process. The trek can take anywhere from three to six hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. After the experience, you will return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest. The rest of the evening is at leisure, allowing you to relax and reflect on the extraordinary encounter with the gorillas.

Day 3: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, you will begin the journey back to Kampala, retracing the scenic route through the rolling hills and vibrant countryside of southwestern Uganda. Lunch will be en route in Mbarara before continuing the drive to the city. Expected arrival in Kampala will be in the evening, marking the end of an unforgettable gorilla habituation experience.
