Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu 

Depart early from Nairobi and enjoy a scenic drive north toward Samburu National Reserve, passing through small towns and semi arid landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at Samburu Sopa Lodge or Simba Lodge and enjoy a hearty lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in the reserve. Explore riverine forests, acacia savannahs, and the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in search of the famous Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. You’ll also encounter elephants, lions, leopards, and other wildlife, with excellent opportunities for photography. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a relaxing night, enjoying the lodge’s amenities and serene surroundings. 

Day 2: Full Day Game Drives & Buffalo Springs

After breakfast, embark on a full day safari adventure with morning and afternoon game drives. Traverse Samburu’s diverse habitats and spot wildlife in their natural environment. Your guides will help locate key species, including predators, herbivores, and a variety of birds endemic to northern Kenya. In between game drives, visit Buffalo Springs, a scenic area within the ecosystem, where you can swim in a natural pool and enjoy the serene setting. Return to the lodge for lunch, dinner, and overnight stay. Full-board meals are included, ensuring a seamless safari experience. 

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Departure 

Wake up early for a final morning game drive, capturing the early light on Samburu’s landscapes and spotting wildlife as they start their day. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. Begin the journey back to Nairobi, stopping along the way for photos or refreshments if desired. Arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon, concluding your memorable 3 day Samburu safari.
