3 Days Masai Mara Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up early in the morning from City Market (CBD) and depart Nairobi for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with a stop at a viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking landscapes and photo opportunities.

Arrive in the Maasai Mara in time for lunch, followed by check-in at your selected lodge or tented camp. Later in the afternoon, set out on your first game drive, exploring the vast savannahs in search of the abundant wildlife for which the Mara is renowned.

Day 2: Full Day in Maasai Mara

Enjoy a full day of wildlife exploration in Kenya’s premier safari destination. Morning and afternoon game drives take you across open plains and along the Mara and Talek Rivers, home to an incredible concentration of wildlife.

Look out for the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino, as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, hyenas, and a wide variety of birdlife. On clear evenings, witness the Mara’s iconic golden sunsets, perfect for photography.

Optional activities include a hot-air balloon safari at sunrise (at an additional cost), offering a breathtaking aerial view of the reserve. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Wake up early to enjoy the tranquil morning atmosphere and sunrise over the plains. After breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi.

En route, you may opt to visit a traditional Maasai village (optional, USD 20 per person), where you will experience cultural dances and gain insight into the Maasai way of life.

Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your residence or the airport.
