About this tour

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be welcomed by a safari representative and transferred to your lodge for relaxation after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the vibrant city, visit local markets, or simply unwind at your accommodation. In the evening, you will receive a safari briefing outlining the adventure ahead. Dinner will be served at the lodge before settling in for an overnight stay at Tulia Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will depart from Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park, a park renowned for its impressive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The park’s lifeline, the Tarangire River, attracts a wide variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, and numerous bird species. Upon arrival, you will embark on a game drive through the park, observing animals in their natural habitat. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the park before continuing with more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. As the day ends, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Ndutu to witness the Calving Season 

Following an early breakfast, you will travel toward the Ndutu region located in the southern plains of the Serengeti National Park and within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ndutu area is the heart of the Great Migration calving season, where thousands of wildebeests gather to give birth. This natural phenomenon attracts predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, making it one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles in Africa. You will spend the day on extensive game drives, observing newborn calves taking their first steps and the intense interactions between predators and prey. In the evening, you will check in for dinner and overnight at Lake Ndutu Luxury Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will continue your journey into the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife reserves. Along the way, you will likely encounter more of the migrating herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles moving across the endless savannah. The Serengeti is also home to a large population of predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. A thrilling game drive through this iconic ecosystem will provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. In the evening, you will check in for dinner and overnight at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After a morning game drive and breakfast, you will depart from the Serengeti and head toward the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive offers stunning landscapes and possible wildlife sightings along the way. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing and preparing for the next day’s exploration of the crater.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration and Departure

On the final day, you will descend early into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. This natural wonder hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five-lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the rare black rhino. The crater’s diverse landscape features forests, open grasslands, and freshwater lakes that support a wide variety of animals and birdlife. After an exciting morning of wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will ascend the crater walls and begin the journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable Great Migration safari.
