Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by your experienced driver guide who will accompany you throughout the safari. You will begin your journey north to Samburu National Reserve, a scenic drive of approximately seven to eight hours through Kenya’s countryside. Along the way, you will cross the Equator Line and enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kenya. Upon arrival at your lodge, enjoy lunch before heading out for your first afternoon game drive around 4:00 PM. Samburu is known for its dramatic landscapes and unique wildlife species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba Lodge.

Day 2: Explore Samburu National Reserve
Today begins with an early morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve. The reserve is home to a wide range of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. Samburu is also famous for the “Special Five,” which include Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, and the lesser kudu species rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya. After the morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation. You may enjoy the lodge’s facilities, including a refreshing swim. In the afternoon, embark on another game drive to explore more of the reserve and search for additional wildlife.

Day 3: Samburu to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a 90,000 acre private wildlife sanctuary located at the foothills of Mount Kenya. The conservancy is famous for its successful conservation programs and is home to both black and white rhinos, including the critically endangered northern white rhinos. It also hosts the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. After lunch at your camp, enjoy an afternoon game drive where you may encounter lions, cheetahs, elephants, and many other animals.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta to Lake Naivasha
Following breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. The lake is known for its hippo populations and rich birdlife, making it a favorite destination for nature lovers. After arriving and enjoying lunch at your lodge, the afternoon will be free for optional activities. You may choose to take a boat ride on the lake, visit Crescent Island for a walking safari among wildlife, or enjoy horseback riding in the surrounding area. In the evening, relax at your lodge before dinner.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, depart for the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. The scenic drive takes approximately five hours and passes through the traditional lands of the Maasai people, where you may see large herds of cattle grazing along the roadside. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous wildlife reserves and is home to abundant wildlife including elephants, zebras, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest.

Day 6: Full Day Safari in Masai Mara
Today you will spend the entire day exploring Masai Mara National Reserve on game drives. With over 400 species of birds and a wide variety of mammals, the reserve offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. Your guide will take you to areas where wildlife sightings are most promising. A packed picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the reserve to allow more time for exploration. Optional activities such as a hot air balloon safari at sunrise or visits to a Maasai village can also be arranged at an additional cost.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast, check out from the lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi, a drive of approximately five hours. Along the way, you can relax and reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters experienced during your safari. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your onward flight, marking the end of this memorable safari adventure.
