One day Safari at Mikumi National Park Safari

Your adventure begins early in the morning with a transfer from your hotel in Zanzibar to the airport for your scheduled flight to Mikumi National Park. After a short scenic flight over the Tanzanian coastline and countryside, you will arrive at Mikumi Airstrip, located inside the park. Upon arrival, you will meet your professional safari guide and join a shared game drive with other travelers.

Begin your morning game drive across the open plains of Mikumi National Park, which is well known for the wildlife rich Mkata Floodplain. During the drive, you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and several species of antelope. With a bit of luck, you might also see lions or other predators resting in the shade or moving through the grasslands.

Your guide will help locate wildlife and provide interesting information about the animals and their natural habitat. Around midday, you will stop for lunch at a lodge or picnic site inside the park, where you can relax and enjoy a meal while surrounded by the natural beauty of the African wilderness. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the park in search of more wildlife and bird species. Mikumi is also home to a wide variety of birds, making it a great destination for bird lovers. 

In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to Mikumi Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable one day Mikumi safari experience
