About this tour
Day 1
Your journey begins in Nairobi, where you will board the Madaraka Express for a comfortable and scenic ride to Voi. The train journey offers picturesque views of Kenya’s landscapes as you travel toward the Tsavo region. Upon arrival at Voi Railway Station, you will be met and transferred to the spectacular Salt Lick Safari Lodge located within Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. After check in, enjoy lunch at the lodge and take in the stunning views of the surrounding wilderness and waterhole that frequently attracts wildlife. Later in the afternoon, depart for your first game drive within the sanctuary, where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and other wildlife species. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay while enjoying the magical experience of watching animals visit the waterhole beneath the lodge.
Day 2: Game Drive & Heritage Experience
Begin your day early with tea or coffee before heading out for another thrilling morning game drive in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, when wildlife is most active. After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast while enjoying views of the sanctuary. Later in the morning, enjoy a heritage tour that takes you to the Taita Hills World War I Museum and the Taita Hills Wildlife Education Centre, where you will learn about the region’s wildlife conservation efforts and its historical significance during the East African Campaign of World War I. After the tour, return for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, guests may relax at the lodge or visit Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa to enjoy a rejuvenating treatment at Afya Bora Spa, where the package offers a 20% discount on massage treatments. Later, enjoy dinner and another overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Salt Lick Voi Nairobi
After breakfast at Salt Lick Safari Lodge, take in the final views of the sanctuary and watch for wildlife around the waterhole. You will then check out and transfer back to Voi Railway Station to board the Madaraka Express train for your return journey to Nairobi, arriving later in the day with unforgettable safari memories.
