Upon arrival at Shimba Hills National Reserve, you will register at the park gate with the assistance of your guide (please carry your passport for identification). Nature Walk and Wildlife Encounter: Embark on a guided nature walk through the forest trails accompanied by an experienced ranger. The rainforest environment is rich with diverse flora and fauna, offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching and spotting butterflies and rare plant species. The peaceful sounds of nature enhance the experience as you explore the dense vegetation. During your walk, you will visit the picturesque Sheldrick Falls, a hidden gem within the reserve. Reaching the falls involves an approximately 2.5 km trek through scenic terrain. At the waterfall, you can relax by the cascading waters and, if you wish, take a refreshing swim in the natural pool below.Comfortable walking or hiking shoes are highly recommended for this excursion.

Wildlife viewing is also part of the experience. Shimba Hills is home to elephants, sable antelopes, buffaloes, and occasionally leopards, among other indigenous animals. While wildlife sightings are possible, the reserve provides a more tranquil and forest-focused experience compared to larger parks such as Tsavo East National Park, where wildlife populations are more concentrated. Bringing binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens will enhance your chances of capturing memorable sightings.

 Midday: Lunch and Relaxation After exploring the park, you will exit on a short game drive en route to Shimba Hills Green Lodge. Here, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The lodge also features a magnificent infinity pool overlooking the Mwaluganje Sanctuary, offering the perfect opportunity to relax or take a refreshing swim while enjoying breathtaking views of the rolling hills.

Sunset and Return Journey As the day draws to a close, you will have the opportunity to admire a stunning African sunset from the lodge’s infinity pool viewpoint. The panoramic scenery across the Shimba Hills creates a spectacular and tranquil end to your adventure.
