Departing from Mombasa, this adventure offers spectacular landscapes, iconic wildlife, and comfortable lodge accommodation in the heart of the wilderness.
About this tour
Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park
Your safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Mombasa in a comfortable safari van fitted with an openable pop-up sunroof, ideal for game viewing and photography. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside as you make your way toward the park. Upon arrival at Bachuma Gate, the eastern entrance of Tsavo East, park entry formalities are completed before embarking on your first exciting game drive.
As you venture into the vast savannah, keep your eyes open for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and a wide variety of bird species. Later, proceed to Voi Safari Lodge or similar for check-in, lunch, and relaxation.
The lodge offers stunning panoramic views over the park, often allowing wildlife sightings directly from the viewing deck. In the evening, head out for another game drive to explore more of the park’s expansive terrain. Return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 2: Exploring Tsavo East National Park:
Begin your day with an early morning game drive, the perfect time to witness the African sunrise and observe predators and other wildlife at their most active. The golden morning light provides exceptional photography opportunities. Return to the lodge for breakfast before continuing your exploration of the park.
Tsavo East is famous for its “red elephants,” colored by the park’s distinctive red soil. You may also encounter buffalo herds, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. A visit to Aruba Dam offers the chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife gathered around this popular watering hole. The park’s rugged scenery, including the impressive Yatta Plateau and Mudanda Rock, adds to the dramatic beauty of the experience.
After lunch at the lodge, you will exit the park and begin your journey back to Mombasa, arriving at your hotel in the late afternoon and concluding your memorable two-day safari.
