1 Day Githiga Waterfalls

Begin your day early by leaving Nairobi at around 7:30 AM and enjoy a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour drive through Limuru and Githunguri toward Githiga town, where the trail starts near a local petrol station. By 9:00 AM, you’ll arrive at the trailhead and start preparing for the hike. The adventure kicks off at around 9:15 AM with a guided or self-led walk through rolling tea plantations, winding forest paths, and gentle valleys. About 45 minutes into the hike, you’ll reach the first waterfall a quiet, picturesque spot perfect for a short rest and photos. From there, continue deeper into the trail to discover the second waterfall, which features a unique cave tucked behind the cascading water, offering a great place to explore or sit and enjoy the cool mist. The hike continues to the third and largest waterfall, nestled within a tranquil clearing where you can unwind, enjoy snacks, and even swing from vines if you're feeling playful. After spending time at the falls, begin your return hike at around 12:30 PM via an alternate route through the tea fields, arriving back at the starting point by 1:30 PM. You can choose to have a simple lunch or refreshments at a nearby eatery before departing for Nairobi at around 2:30 PM, with an expected return by 4:00 PM completing a full day of nature, exploration, and rejuvenation.
