1 Day Lolldaiga Hills Conservancy

The day begins with an early departure from Nairobi at around 5:00 AM. The drive to Lolldaiga via the Thika-Nyeri-Nanyuki route takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours. Arrive at the conservancy gate by 10:00 AM, where prior booking and clearance are required since this is a private property. Upon arrival, you'll check in and begin a game drive through the conservancy’s breathtaking landscape characterized by rolling hills, rocky outcrops, river valleys, and expansive plains.

During your visit, you may spot a wide range of wildlife. The conservancy is home to elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, impalas, warthogs, and eland. With some luck, you might also see predators such as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and jackals. Birdwatchers will enjoy the diverse birdlife, including martial eagles, hornbills, sunbirds, and other woodland species.

Around 12:30 PM, enjoy a packed picnic lunch at one of the scenic spots within the conservancy many offer sweeping views of the hills and, on a clear day, Mount Kenya in the distance. After lunch, continue with a short nature walk or another drive through a different section of the conservancy for more wildlife sightings or photography.

By 3:30 PM, begin your drive back to Nairobi, with an optional refreshment stop in Nanyuki town. Expect to arrive in Nairobi between 8:00 and 8:30 PM, depending on traffic. It’s a full, rewarding day filled with exclusive wildlife encounters and stunning Laikipia scenery.
