Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre wildlife sanctuary in central Kenya, known for protecting the last two northern white rhinos and being East Africa's largest black rhino sanctuary. 04:30 AM – Depart Nairobi

Leave early to beat traffic and make the most of your day. The drive to Ol Pejeta via Thika and Nanyuki takes about 3.5 to 4 hours. Enjoy views of Mt. Kenya as you get closer to Laikipia.

 07:45 AM – Short Stop in Nanyuki

 Quick break for refreshments and restroom use. This small town lies right on the equator and offers a scenic pause before entering the conservancy.

08:30 AM – Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy Check in at the gate, pay entrance fees (or confirm booking), and receive a short briefing. You’re now entering one of East Africa’s premier wildlife conservancies.

08:45 AM – Morning Game Drive Explore the vast plains of Ol Pejeta, home to all members of the Big Five. Look out for elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalo, and leopards, as well as rarer species like Grevy’s zebras and African wild dogs.

 11:15 AM – Visit Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary Take a guided tour of Kenya’s only chimpanzee sanctuary. Learn about the rescue stories of these primates and the ongoing conservation work being done here.

 12:30 PM – Lunch at Serena Sweetwaters Camp Enjoy a relaxed lunch with views of a waterhole frequented by wildlife. Buffet and à la carte options are available. Alternatively, enjoy a packed lunch at one of the picnic spots inside the conservancy.

02:00 PM – Visit the Endangered Species Enclosure Meet Baraka, a blind black rhino you can feed by hand, and see Najin and Fatu—the world’s last two northern white rhinos. A ranger will guide you through the enclosure’s conservation history and current breeding efforts.

03:30 PM – Visitor Center and Nature Walk Stop by the education center or browse the conservancy’s gift shop. If time allows, take a short guided nature walk near the Ewaso Nyiro River or visit a local research outpost.

04:00 PM – Begin Return Journey to Nairobi Exit the conservancy and begin your drive back as the sun sets over Mt. Kenya.

07:30 PM – Arrive Back in Nairobi Expected return time depending on traffic. Drop-off at your starting point.
